Alyssa's Headband

Derek and I are very lucky that we have made some great friends in Korea, two of them are Alyssa and Jeff. They are from California and are super cool, we always have a great time with them. Alyssa made me this super cute headband/ear warmer that I am obsessed with! She probably regrets giving it to me because I wear it so much that whenever we see each other we are headband twins. Anyways, it is super easy to make so if anyone knits out there I highly recommend making one.

Diamonds! For me?

I found these yesterday and had to buy them. While they are not real, obviously, they are real cute!

Style Trend: Umbrellas

This post is probably too early for the US and hopefully too late for Korea. Lately, it has been raining quite a lot because it's the end of typhoon season. In fact school was cancelled on Monday due to rain (a big change from Chicago never cancelling school). Since it rains here so much umbrellas are important to think about. I personally am in love with the clear umbrellas. They match everything and you can see through it if the rain is thrashing at your face.

A Dream Come True!

You know what I thought was cool in 3rd grade? Glasses and retainers. Glasses seemed so unique to me that I even tried to fail an eye exam so I could get glasses, but I guess they knew something was off when I said an i looked like an o.  I wanted a retainer because I was super jealous of my friend who had one and would play with it by lifting it off the roof of her mouth with her tongue. Oh, the things kids like!

Nowadays I think retainers are pretty gross but I never got over  glasses. So since I am in Korea, away from my friends who would make fun of me, I got a pair of fake glasses. I love them, I love saying 'wait a minute I need my spectacles to see', I love the way I look and I love them so much I will probably buy another pair! A lot of people here have fake glasses and they are treated as an accessory so I fit right in.

 Who's that smart lookin' lady?

The Goodbye Blues

What's happening? Over here I have been soaking up the little time I have left in Chicago, with friends, family and being comfortable in my surroundings. I've been getting sad when I think about all that I will miss when away and how long a year is. I am entering a honeymoon stag with my life here, I can't imagine what could be better than Chicago and these people. Here is a glimpse of my hard to believe I'm leaving life as of recent.
