Overall black and white photography is not my favorite but I think it lent itself well to some of the pictures I took in GwangJu, so here you are.

Making Songpyeon, a rice steamed rice paste dumpling with sweet sesame seeds inside. It's shaped like a half moon to symbolize us taking from the full moon.

The Honeymooners

We are in the honeymoon stage with Korea. Eating on the floor, walking around wide eyed and noticing how many things are 'better' here. I am sure it will ware off soon and we will have to look past the glossy exterior we are viewing now, but I am glad right now to notice but not care about all the quirks, faults and annoyances of Korea. 

Photo Pile: Buddhist Temples

In the past week Derek and I have already visited three different temple areas. The first three photos are from a temple right outside of Jeonju, where we had our orientation. The next five are from Duryu Park, which is a thirty minute walk or short bus ride from my house. The last picture I am not positive what it was so I'll have to stop by again. We found it randomly as we were walking to downtown, the boy was worshiping and stopped to show us what to do. He was a very good teacher and even taught us about how to say goodbye in Korean. After, he followed us down the street. So cute!

The Doors to Korea

While I am sure everyone is dying to know all about Korea, I am feeling a little overwhelmed as to where exactly I should start and what exactly to write about that is interesting, accurate and personal. Also, I really don't have much time to write because of all the classes, getting ready to teach and yada yada yada. So I will start with opening the door. 

The Poconos

I have been back from vacation for a couple of days now and I already am ready for more time off. I had such a great time visiting Derek's family and friends. It's nice when you go to a new place and automatically feel at ease with the place and people.

Vacation Pictures
