Awkward.

We just got to Korea last night and I cannot express my excitement. Somehow I am not nervous anymore but ready to soak up this experience. Having a week of orientation is amazing. Its nice to be in a little bubble so we can meet other teachers, practice the simple, polite tasks and have some comfort before we are on our own. Today we went to get coffee and tried to speak Korean. It proved to be awkward. The barista ended up asking us in English. Most of the time Koreans have giggled at our thank you.

In the end, I am trying hard to remember three important things
1. Always say the formal hello when you encounter anyone
2. Hold my arm when giving and receiving anything, especially money
3. Smile
