Yesterday was my first day of teaching and I got pretty lucky because school was shortened because of the monsoon so it gave me just enough time to introduce myself and have them ask questions through my co teacher translating. Here are the best questions I got...
1. What's your nations flower? (I have no clue)
2. What's your age ? Every class asked this and made loud oooohs and ahhhhhs when I replied 25. My co teacher made the same noise when I told her but I was unsure of if it was a 'wow that's old!' or a 'man, that's young!' reaction. I asked during class because I was surprised by the reaction and I guess I am young in Korean's eyes.
3. Are you married? Do you have a boyfriend? Is he Korean? Where was a special place he has taken you? What has he bought you? On and on.
4. What's your blood type? O-.
Blood type in Korea is similar to how we view astrology in the US. Your blood type tells others about your temperament and personality. Supposedly, O is a very good type to have. I am ambitious, self confident but also arrogant. Not sure if that exactly describes me but I'll take it.
If you are a male and have B blood type then you are considered a player, not good husband material and people will tell others to stay away from you, but if you are a female with B you're ok.
So what's your blood type? Look up the meanings here.
