Kyoto: Part 2

Next stop is Nanzenji Temple. I highly recommend going to this temple because unlike most temples, here you can pretty much wander everywhere. It is surrounded by forest and small paths that lead from temple to temple. My favorite was an old aqueduct that you could walk along and see an aerial view of the gardens that you would have to pay to walk in.

This is the aqueduct you can walk on top of.

A rope to ring the gong.

Mini temple!

This is a little worship cave in the forest.
My favorite picture. xoxo
Next we went to the Silver Pavilion, which is not silver. It did have a nice rock garden though and it revealed how smart Derek and I were to go to places early. Most temples we were ahead of the crowd which makes the experience so much better. The Silver Temple had a crowd, which was a bummer.

Next is what everyone thinks of when they hear Kyoto, the Fushimi Inari Shrine. We went here before our day trip to Nara. It looked like it was going to rain but luckily it passed through but the wind help create an intense atmosphere when we walked through the area. Also, you can still buy a gate if anyone is in the market.

And finally some random snapshots.

Sushi train! Loved this idea and we tried some things we wouldn't have otherwise.
