Fire

This past weekend we went to Busan for a day to see the Jeongwol Deaboreum fire festival. It happens on the first full moon of the lunar new year and is a time to wish for good health an fortune. The main event is a ginormous bonfire. I love looking at fire and I took way too many pictures of the same thing because fire has a way of always looking different.

People put some sort of offering and written wishes in the fire before it's lit. It seemed that some people put trash in it too. The best (funny) thing was the safety personnel who thought that if they whistled people would stop running up to the fire to throw in their offering.

After this trip I can't wait for summer! I want to go to Busan at least once a month to hang out at the beach.

For some reason I thought it best to post pictures from night to day, I don't know why.
