Derek and I spent about two and a half days in Osaka. It was the end of our trip so at this point we were pretty burnt out. So we decided to see only one or two sights a day and relax. We went to Osaka Castle, which was really large and has an epic story of how it got took over. We went on the Ferris wheel and to the aquarium. The aquarium was awesome! It had whale sharks, large sting rays, jellyfish and one of the largest salt water tanks. Even cuter were the preschoolers who had little sketch books. My heart melted seeing jelly fish with ears, feet and toes. I wanted to take pictures of their drawings more than the fish, but that would make me a creep so I held back.
We also met some of the best people in Osaka. One night, Derek and I were having our cheap vending machine sake, when two guys approached us and asked if we would like to get a drink. We went to their friend's bar to drink and eat the night away! They were so nice that they wouldn't let us pay for anything, and let me tell you whiskey is expensive. They even prepaid our taxi home without us knowing. One of the guys, who 'loves Bob Marley' even called his wife to see if we could stay with them (which we told him was unnecessary so he told her never mind). They made our stay in Osaka and if we ever go back I have the bar's card so we can say hi and repay their generosity.

Tell me that isn't the coolest looking bar tender? He also hand shaves ice into spheres for drinks on the rocks. |
