Life Happens #1

When I look back at my posts I always feel amazed at how much I've done, but there is so much missing! So I am actually going to start a series and try hard to keep updating it about general life in Korea. Things that at first were strange or amazing, now seem normal. I want to remember these things and I think it will help others realize how different some of my life is.

Life happens #1
I am finally, after 8 months of living Korea, remembering to turn off the shower! In Korea, showers are not separated from your sink or toilet. It's all in one small room. You turn the sinks' water on and turn a knob on your faucet and the shower turns on. Now, I always turn off the water but not the shower, so as soon as you turn the water on the shower is on too... oops. In the first few months Derek has many times gone to wash his hands and instead got a shower. I too have gotten ready for school and had to change my clothes because they got soaked. But in the past few months, no surprise showers!

While this is NOT my shower (my camera is not working right now), this is a pretty standard shower.

We also have a friend, Mr. Joshie Teacher, who you probably have read about in Derek's blog, and he has a really funny first day in Korea story about the showers. Remember to ask me in person.

Derek has developed his own habit...of always checks the shower is off before turning the water on, ha.
